Not Losing Weight Even Though You Diet and Exercise?
Have you ever wondered why you can’t lose weight despite diet and exercise? A hormone called Leptin was discovered in 1995 as the hormone that tells your brain to burn fat for energy. Unless you brain receives the right message from this hormone, you cannot burn fat for
energy and you will not lose weight.
A synthetic form of leptin was created by drug companies who thought they had the answer to obesity. It was thought that if the brain needs to “hear” leptin in order tolose weight then people who are obese must be deficient in leptin. Eventually they realized that they were wrong and it was an elevation in leptin that caused people to be overweight. When a person is diabetic they produce plenty of insulin that they cannot use which is caused from eating too much sugars and grains and toxicity. When a person consumes too much sugar on a regular basis the body releases more insulin. This constant releasing of insulin along with elevated glucose cause the receptors on a cell that “hear” insulin to burn out. This means that they become insulin resistant.
This is the same with leptin. The only way your brain knows to burn fat is if Leptin which is produced by your fat cells, tells your brain that there is too much fat. This system will not work if it is worn-out. This “wearing out” of this system causes your brain to not Leptin and thusly is not told to burn fat. When the Leptin receptors get burnt out you become leptin resistant. It is almost impossible to lose weight once this hormone system fails.

- Triglycerides/cholesterol. Your body cannot burn fat because it is not able to hear leptin, therefore circulating blood fat in the form of triglycerides or cholesterol will be elevated.
- High blood pressure. This pressure is caused by a narrowing and/or hardening of the arteries initiated by oxidation of cholesterol and inflammation in the arterial wall. When you eliminate glucose (sugar), you control insulin and leptin, which reduces inflammation, and thusly blood pressure.
- Elevated glucose, leptin, or insulin.
- Genetics. Some individuals do better with certain diets than others do. This is why some people do well with a low-carb diet and some do better with a high-carb diet. The only way to determine this factor is if you are a person who has tried many diets and failed or has a family history of heart disease, diabetes, and/or obesity, thenthe Healing Diet is probably for you.
- Neurotoxicity. Neurotoxins cause inflammation that affects hormones that deal with weight loss.
