Literally every day, we write another shocking discovery about the extreme dangers of classic medicine.   Today, it is about antibiotics. Recently, another medical foundation has come crashing down. It turns out that taking a precautionary antibiotic before a trip to the dentist might create more harm than good.

For over a decade now, medical research has cautioned against the use of antibiotics saying that over 90% of all infections are viral (antibiotics do not kill viruses) and that 98% of all infectious processes heal up just fine, and in fact far better on their own. Most people are becoming aware of the antibiotics plague. A plague of antibiotic resistant bacteria called “Super-germs.”

People are also aware that antibiotics kill all bacteria in your intestine, not just unwanted ones. This leaves you with a condition now called “Leaky gut syndrome” in which you become unable to properly digest foods and compromise your immune system. In fact, a host of common “New Millennium” diseases are linked to these drugs.

Despite these facts, family doctors continue to write antibiotic prescriptions like they are going out of style.   Pun intended as they have gone out of style. Guidelines, published in Circulation: Journal of the American Heart Association show a growing body of scientific evidence weighing the effectiveness of antibiotics against possible risks. For decades, doctors have given short-term antibiotics prior to a dental procedure to many patients with the belief the drugs would prevent infectious endocarditis (IE). As a result, patients with any kind of heart abnormality from mild, symptomless forms of mitral valve prolapse (MVP) to serious congenital birth defects have been instructed to take an antibiotic prior to dental work, even teeth cleaning.

However, the drugs carry risks, including fatal allergic reactions and possibly making the bacteria that cause IE to become resistant to antibiotics. Although allergic reactions are minimal, new evidence shows the risks outweigh the benefits for most patients receiving these antibiotics. Sadly, prophylactic antibiotics have been recommended for the last 50 years when in fact brushing your teeth carries 154,000 times the risk of a basic medical procedure!

Past Research on the Deadly Nature of Antibiotics

University of Washington found that if you filled 25 or more prescriptions for antibiotics over 17 years, you double your risk of cancer. – TIME, December 6, 2004

Infants exposed to one single round of antibiotics during their first year of life are twice as likely to develop asthma as those who do not. The more courses of antibiotics, the worse the immunity and the greater the risk of asthma. – NEWSDAY, March 6, 2006

Just released: Researchers attempted to study how long the ill effects of antibiotics last by studying people for six months. At the end of six months, people still showed low resistance and poor immunity leading the researchers to conclude that they have no idea how long last or how damaging the effects of antibiotics truly are. – THE CLINICAL ADVISOR, April 2007)

“We’ve concluded that if giving prophylactic antibiotics prior to a dental procedure works at all – and there’s no evidence that it does work – we should reserve that preventive treatment only for those people who would have the worst outcomes if they get IE. That’s a profound change from previous recommendations,” said Walter R. Wilson, M.D., a professor of medicine at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, and chair of the writing group.

The research added that patients and their families should ask careful questions of their providers anytime antibiotics are suggested. They should also be aware that antibiotics many times can lead to a worse outcome than if they were not used at all. Of course when you ask your doctor if you really need it, the answer will be “Yes!”

There is a war going on inside the body for your health between your immune system and the bacteria and virus with which it has to share the world. You do not win the war by sending a toxic H-bomb-like chemical into your body to wipe out the enemy.

You win with maximized living – boosting God-given immune function so that the bugs will not stand a chance!

How many kids have asthma and allergies from taking antibiotics?

How many people have cancer because of the antibiotic recommendation?

How many people suffer right now from antibiotics?

How many children’s immune systems are ruined by the belief that drugs keep us safe when in fact every day we find out they are killing us?

Answer: All of those that do not know to choose health through maximized living first over drugs and surgery.
