Chiropractic Helped My Rheumatica When Medication Couldn’t
At the end of 2006, I started having aches and pains all over my body. By January 2007, my family doctor sent me to Summerville Medical Center to be checked.
The Doctors’ recommendation was I start seeing a rheumatologist. I began seeing the doctor on January 15, 2007 and he diagnosed me with PMR-Polymyalgic Rheumatica. He prescribed Lortab, Celebrex and Prednisone for pain.
All of these were given to make it easier for me to LIVE WITH condition but nothing was done to IMPROVE my condition.
In addition to the PMR, I began having trouble with my right hand. It would neither open nor close all the way. I was forced to wear a glove at night to keep the hand warm just to ease the pain enough to get to sleep.
After my condition got so bad the pain pills no longer worked, my daughter Jan introduced me to Dr Justin James. (Jan and her family went there for 2 years.)
On my very first visit I could feel improvement upon leaving the office. I continue to see Dr James for chiropractic treatments. My health has improved to the point that I take little or no medications for pain and my hand has returned to near normal.
I now see the rheumatologist every 6 months rather than every month and I only take the pain medicine when needed instead of every day.
